Rewards for Justice is offering a reward of up to $3 million for information on Zerrin Sari, also known as Fatma Gulten and Hale Melis. Sari is a key leader in the Revolutionary People’s Liberation Party/Front (DHKP/C), a U.S.-designated Foreign Terrorist Organization that has attacked Turkish government facilities and personnel as well as U.S. military and diplomatic facilities in Turkey since the 1990s. DHKP/C’s goal is to expel the U.S. and NATO presence from Turkey and establish a socialist state.
Although Sari was imprisoned for her activities, she was released in 2008 after the death of her husband, Dursun Karatas, a founding member of DHKP/C. She is believed to have played significant roles in the March 2013 attacks on the Justice and Development Party (AKP) headquarters and the Turkish Ministry of Justice in Ankara, which injured one person, and the September 20, 2013, attacks on Turkish police headquarters and a police housing complex in Ankara.
