Rewards for Justice is offering a reward of up to $5 million for information on Malik Abou Abdelkarim, also known as Abd al-Karim or Abu Abd al-Karim al-Tariqi. Abdelkarim is a senior leader of a company of fighters within al-Qa’ida in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), a U.S.-designated Foreign Terrorist Organization. 

Under Abdelkarim’s command, his company acquired weapons and conducted kidnappings and small-scale terrorist attacks across North and West Africa. Abdelkarim was reportedly responsible for killing an elderly French hostage in Niger in July 2010. An attack in June 2010 carried out by Abdelkarim’s company resulted in the death of 11 Algerian gendarmes.
