O PKK \u00e9 uma organiza\u00e7\u00e3o classificada pelos EUA como Organiza\u00e7\u00e3o Terrorista Estrangeira. Kalkan \u00e9 membro do Comit\u00ea Executivo do PKK e foi respons\u00e1vel por um ataque que matou sete soldados turcos em dezembro de 2009. \n<\/p>\n\n
