Rewards for Justice is offering a reward of up to $5 million for information on the 1993 World Trade Center bombing in New York City. On February 26, 1993, terrorists detonated a 1,500-pound truck bomb in the parking garage beneath the World Trade Center. The blast killed six people, wounded more than 1,000 others, and caused hundreds of millions of dollars in damages.

A group of individuals associated with al-Qa’ida (AQ), including Abdul Rahman Yasin and Ramzi Yousef, planned the attack. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, a high-ranking AQ member and Yousef’s uncle, provided funding for the operation. The perpetrators had hoped that the bomb would topple one tower, with the collapsing debris knocking down the second tower. Six of the conspirators, including the mastermind Ramzi Yousef, were arrested, tried and convicted, and sentenced to life in prison. A seventh plotter, Abdul Rahman Yasin, remains at large.
