Rewards for Justice is offering a reward of up to $5 million for information on the 1983 bombing of the U.S. Marine Corps Barracks in Beirut, Lebanon. On October 23, 1983, a truck bomb exploded at the housing compound of U.S. and French members of the Multinational Force in Lebanon at Beirut International Airport. The Multinational Force was in Lebanon as part of an international peacekeeping effort. The attack killed 241 U.S. military personnel and wounded 128. Later that day, 58 French soldiers were killed in a similar attack. Hizballah is believed to have orchestrated the attacks, acting with support and funding from Iran.
