HTS contr\u00f4le une partie du territoire dans le nord-ouest de la Syrie, avec pour objectif d&rsquo;\u00e9vincer le r\u00e9gime syrien d&rsquo;Assad et de le remplacer par un \u00c9tat islamique sunnite afin de favoriser son propre agenda en tant que l&rsquo;un des affili\u00e9s d&rsquo;Al-Qa\u00efda en Syrie. HTS a pris plusieurs citoyens am\u00e9ricains en otage depuis sa cr\u00e9ation.
