L’Organisation r\u00e9volutionnaire 17 novembre (17N) a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9e en 1975 en tant que groupe de gauche radicale. Le groupe cherchait \u00e0 obtenir l’expulsion des bases am\u00e9ricaines de Gr\u00e8ce, le retrait des forces militaires turques de Chypre et la rupture des liens de la Gr\u00e8ce avec l’OTAN et l’Union europ\u00e9enne. Le 17N a \u00e9t\u00e9 responsable de nombreux actes de terrorisme en Gr\u00e8ce, notamment des fusillades, des attentats \u00e0 la roquette et des attentats \u00e0 la voiture pi\u00e9g\u00e9e. La campagne de terreur du groupe a entra\u00een\u00e9 la mort de quatre Am\u00e9ricains : William Nordeen, Ronald Stewart, George Tsantes et Richard Welch. Une ramification du 17N a revendiqu\u00e9 l’attaque \u00e0 la grenade propuls\u00e9e par fus\u00e9e du 12 janvier 2007 contre l’ambassade des \u00c9tats-Unis \u00e0 Ath\u00e8nes.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
Le 8 octobre 1997, le D\u00e9partement d’\u00c9tat des \u00c9tats-Unis a d\u00e9sign\u00e9 la 17N comme une Organisation Terroriste \u00c9trang\u00e8re ou Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) en vertu de la section 219 de la Loi sur l’Immigration et la Nationalit\u00e9, telle qu’amend\u00e9e.
