L’Organisation Abu Nidal (ANO) a \u00e9t\u00e9 form\u00e9e en 1974 apr\u00e8s s’\u00eatre s\u00e9par\u00e9e de l’Organisation de lib\u00e9ration de la Palestine. L’ANO pr\u00f4nait l’\u00e9limination d’Isra\u00ebl et cherchait \u00e0 faire d\u00e9railler les efforts diplomatiques en faveur du processus de paix au Moyen-Orient. Le groupe \u00e9tait responsable de nombreuses attaques terroristes, notamment l’attentat \u00e0 la bombe contre le vol TWA 840 et le d\u00e9tournement du vol Pan Am 73. <\/p>\n\n
Le 8 octobre 1997, le D\u00e9partement d’\u00c9tat des \u00c9tats-Unis a d\u00e9sign\u00e9 l’ANO comme une Organisation Terroriste \u00c9trang\u00e8re ou Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) en vertu de la Section 219 de la Loi sur l’Immigration et la Nationalit\u00e9, telle qu’amend\u00e9e.
