El programa Recompensas por la Justicia ofrece una recompensa de hasta $ 5 millones por informaci\u00f3n que lleve a los responsables del secuestro el 13 de diciembre de 2019 del ciudadano estadounidense Ihsan Ashour en Bagdad.<\/p>\n\n
Ashour, quien tiene la doble ciudadan\u00eda estadounidense e iraqu\u00ed, estuvo en Irak por asuntos personales. Fue secuestrado por aproximadamente 10 hombres armados con m\u00e1scaras y ropa negra en el distrito de al-Sha’ab, cerca de la ciudad de Sadr, durante la manifestaci\u00f3n masiva en la plaza Tahrir de la capital. Sus secuestradores lo atragantaron, golpearon y le administraron descargas el\u00e9ctricas en el cuerpo antes de llevarlo a trav\u00e9s de la frontera con Ir\u00e1n. Dentro de Ir\u00e1n, otro grupo de captores interrog\u00f3 a Ashour sobre presuntas actividades de espionaje. Despu\u00e9s de determinar que no era un esp\u00eda, sus captores devolvieron a Ashour a Irak, donde continu\u00f3 siendo torturado e interrogado.
