Rewards for Justice is offering a reward of up to $5 million for information on Husayn Muhammed al-Umari, also known as Hussein Mohammed al-Umari and Abu Ibrahim. Al-Umari is wanted for his role in the 1982 bombing of Pan Am Flight 830. Al-Umari is an expert bomb maker and a one-time leader of the 15 May Organization terrorist group.

On August 11, 1982, a bomb, believed to have been designed and built by al-Umari, exploded on Pan Am Flight 830 with 267 passengers and crew on board as it was in flight from Tokyo, Japan, to Honolulu, Hawaii. The blast killed a 16-year-old passenger and wounded 16 others. Al-Umari was indicted in the United States along with two others in connection to the bombing. The French government also indicted al-Umari for the 1985 bombings of the Marks & Spencer department store and the Leumi Bank.

Al-Umari possesses a Lebanese passport and may be residing in Iraq or Lebanon. He is on the FBI’s Most Wanted Terrorists List. The U.S. Department of Defense is also offering a reward of up to $200,000 for information leading to his capture.
