Rewards for Justice is offering a reward of up to $5 million for information on Sami Jasim Muhammad al-Jaburi, also known as Hajji Hamid and Sami Jasim Muhammad al-\u2019Ajuz. Al-Jaburi is a senior leader of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and a legacy member of ISIS\u2019s predecessor organization, al-Qa\u2019ida in Iraq. Al-Jaburi has been instrumental in managing finances for ISIS\u2019s terrorist operations.<\/p>\n\n
While serving as ISIS deputy in southern Mosul in 2014, he reportedly served as the equivalent of ISIS\u2019s finance minister, supervising the group\u2019s revenue-generating operations from illicit sales of oil, gas, antiquities, and minerals.<\/p>\n\n
On September 29, 2015, the U.S. Department of the Treasury designated al-Jaburi as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist pursuant to Executive Order 13224, as amended. As a result of this designation, among other consequences, all property and interests in property of al-Jaburi that are subject to U.S. jurisdiction are blocked, and U.S. persons are generally prohibited from engaging in any transactions with al-Jaburi.
