About

Rewards for Justice is offering a reward of up to $15 million for information leading to the disruption of the financial mechanisms of the U.S.-designated Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) Ansarallah, also known as the Houthis.

Supported by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Quds Force (IRGC-QF), which arms and trains terrorist organizations worldwide, the Houthis have conducted a relentless effort to attack American personnel in the Middle East, U.S. regional partners such as Israel, and the stability of global maritime trade.

Houthi forces have fired drones and missiles at U.S. Navy vessels dozens of times since 2023, endangering American men and women in uniform. The Iranian-backed and supplied Houthi terrorists are highly mobile, well-armed, and utilize technologically advanced rockets, drones, and ballistic anti-ship missiles.

Since seizing most Yemeni population centers from the Yemeni government in 2014-2015, the Houthis have launched multiple attacks on civilian airports in Saudi Arabia, conducted a January 2022 attack on the United Arab Emirates, and fired hundreds of missiles at Israel since November 2023.

The Houthis have also conducted more than 100 attacks against commercial vessels transiting Bab al-Mandeb, which connects the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden, killing civilian sailors and forcing some Red Sea maritime commercial traffic to reroute.

In January 2021, the U.S. Department of State designated the Iranian-backed Houthis as a FTO under section 219 of the Immigration and Nationality Act, as amended. That designation was subsequently rescinded. On March 4, 2025, the U.S. Department of State re-designated the Houthis as an FTO, as amended, pursuant to Executive Order 14175 issued on January 22, 2025. The order restores the designation for all Houthi property and interests in property subject to U.S. jurisdiction, and U.S. persons are generally prohibited from engaging in any transactions with the Houthis. It is a crime to knowingly provide, or to attempt or conspire to provide, material support or resources to the Houthi organization.
